CSD Attorneys at Law’s Water Law practice group represents clients in all aspects of matters related to the use of water, including obtaining water rights, adjudicating water rights, making changes to existing water rights, as well as water system permitting and planning, compliance, and mitigation. Our water rights team assists our land use and real estate group in the real estate acquisition due diligence investigation related to the right to use water.

Simply put, a water right is a legal right to use a certain amount of water for a beneficial purpose. The Washington Department of Ecology (“Ecology”) is responsible for managing the state's water resources and administers the permit systems for water rights for surface and ground water.
