CSD Attorneys at Law Welcomes Attorney Alex J. Hamilton

We are extremely pleased to announce that Alex J. Hamilton has joined CSD Attorneys at Law as an associate attorney. Alex’s practice focuses on land use, environmental law, municipal law, ports, and water law. He is experienced in counseling policymakers through complex, cross-jurisdictional legal issues.

Before joining the firm in April 2026, Alex was Associate General Counsel for the Pueblo of Isleta in New Mexico, where he advised Tribal leadership on environmental law, water rights, land use, contracting, and legislative drafting. Alex also served as Attorney-Advisor in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of General Counsel, advising USDA agencies—primarily the Forest Service and Natural Resource Conservation Service—on regulatory compliance, special-use permitting and land use, tribal relations, and litigation. Alex was named USDA Outstanding New Attorney in 2025. During law school, he worked on water rights and municipal law for the City of Boulder, Colorado.

Originally from the mountains of Northern California, Alex was a NCAA Division I cross-country skier at Bates College. Before starting his legal career, he worked in citizen science and environmental education. Alex spends his free time skiing, mountain biking, birding, and being outside with his partner and their two young children.
